Boyd and I were out riding our motorcycles this afternoon and decided to ride out to see our twin grandsons, Clay and Wes. They are in kindergarten now and ride the "big yellow bus" home. Boyd (aka granpa) was hiding, waiting on them to get off the bus. When they got off the bus they didn't see granpa. As they started running up to the house, granpa ran up behind them. Instead of waiting on him to catch up, they thought it was funny because they were beating him and kept running hard as they could.
Kevin and granpa needed to run into town to pick something up, so the boys and I stayed at the house. Their other grandma, who they call "Dome"?, was also there. She and I sat out back and watched the boys jumping (and wrestling) on their trampoline. When they first got the trampoline Wes called it a "jumpaline". You never know what these boys will say!
Wes got off the trampoline and had gotten on the swing. He asked me to come swing with him and I went over and sat in the middle of the swing. But the swing is so low to the ground that even my short legs were dragging. Then Clay came and sat on the other side of me.
We were talking about how some of the other kids in their class are already six. Then Wes said, "We will be 6, then 7, then 8, then 9," and on and on. I said, "Yeah, and some day you both will be teenagers, start driving and have a girlfriend", to which Clay stated very matter-of-fact, "I'm not having a girlfriend until I'm out of college!" Then Wes said (also very matter-of-fact), said, "I'll have a girlfriend when I'm in high school. I'll go to the dance, dance with her, then take her home." I asked, "What will you do then?" His answer was "Kiss her!" Oh my, Kevin and Wendi have their work cut out for them with these boys!
